Murray Ackroyd

Director, Registered Architect

Qualification: ANZIA

Murray is a Registered Architect with over 45 years of architectural experience. He is one of our Directors and leads our team in Timaru.

With us here at DLA since 1986, Murray has worked extensively throughout the South Island from our Timaru office on commercial, industrial and public projects. Over that time DLA has enjoyed strong growth with Murray’s years of experience, backed by a highly capable project team in Timaru, Wellington, Auckland, Hamilton and Tauranga.

Murray is motivated by quality architecture that is supremely functional as well as sympathetic to history, culture and the environment of the site. He also has a passion for modelling, that enables clients to visualise their project, and to facilitate easy communication with building users and stakeholders.

Murray has led the DLA team working in the capacity of Principal Consultant on a variety of large scale projects including those in the dairy, hospitality, healthcare and public sectors. He is experienced in assembling and co-ordinating multi-disciplinary consultant teams and in working in collaborative partnerships which focus on delivering specialist skills in complex project environments.

He also has considerable experience in construction contract management, providing services in the capacity of Architectural lead consultant on a number of major capital works projects.

A keen mountain-biker, when not at the drawing board, Murray can often be found ripping up some some single track or enjoying a picturesque trail in the Mackenzie Basin.
